To produce a media product that characterizes the living spirit of God; educates, empowers, and entertains its readers; and gives life to the cultural voice of young African Americans living the urban life in Christ.

The focuses of Urban Kingdom Magazine include: to introduce God as the center and foundation of life; to build unity, awareness and edification within the African-American community; and to demonstrate healthy, successful and abundant living in Christ. UKM will support and promote African American businesses, entrepreneurship, and will bring our readers an intimate and vivid reflection of how God is honored and glorified through music, fashion, the arts and entertainment.

The UKM model is committed to promoting the people, places and ideas that represent this experience and we bring to the masses a focused, cutting-edge view of the abundant lifestyle of young African American Christians living in the NOW. – The New generation Of Worship.

Urban Kingdom Magazine stands on two Scriptural foundations: 1. “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein . . .” Psalm 24:1 ESV). 2. “[He] came so [we – African Americans] can have real and eternal life, more and better life than [we] ever dreamed of.” (John 10:10 The Message).

We believe unreservedly in the power of God to save souls; transform lives; and restore to wholeness, a dying generation of African American people. “Beloved, we are God’s children [NOW], and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2 (ESV)

We believe God is elevating His people to a higher, spiritual realm and He’s doing it NOW. We believe He is calling us from the mentality of defeat and victimization, to one of acceptance, power and prosperity. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! [NOW] it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV).

We are a media source of realism, truth, encouragement and entertainment.

Our main objectives are:

1. To instruct and encourage the young adult segment of the AACM (African American Christian Market) in contemporary Christian living using relevant media that connects Biblical principle to everyday life and inspires spiritual growth through the application of these principles.
   
2. To be a leading example of media that reflects a positive image of African-Americans.
   
3. To serve as an entertaining and innovative evangelistic platform that promotes unity, individual transformation, and progressive growth in the African-American community at-large.

We have a need as a people to live and live NOW! God meets us where we are and takes us as we are. We are the offspring of the Civil Rights Generation, but more, we are the offspring of God and God represents life. We are Generation NOW - the New generation Of Worship!

So, “Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Shake yourself from the dust and arise; be seated, O Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

For thus says the Lord: ‘You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money … Therefore my people shall know my name. Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak: here am I.’ ”
